There will be bottom-heavy beats aplenty at the Junction nightclub on Forster Street this Thursday, 2 July, as local dubstep night DubCulture launch their new bi-weekly Thursday Summer Sessions. Fresh from putting together the dubstep tent at Life festival, DubCulture was established in September 2007 and the club has brought the cream of the underground to Galway with live and DJ shows from heavy hitters like N-Type, Rusko, Pinch, Distance and many more.

They launched their record label last year and there are more vinyl and digital releases in the pipeline. Doors from 9pm, €5 admission. 

Tickets are still available for UK comedian Michael McIntyre's second Galway show on Wednesday 8 July. McIntyre is the star of 'Live at the Apollo' and the fastest selling debut stand-up DVD of all time and is a regular face on all the top TV comedy shows including, 'Mock the Week', 'Have I Got News For You', 'The Graham Norton Show', 'Tonight with Jonathan Ross' and '8 out of 10 cats'.

There is a plethora of interesting and entertaining Irish and international shorts and documentaries showing at this year's Galway Film Fleadh.

Directed by Lorraine O Hanlon, Sanctuary, a short documentary featuring the GSPCA sanctuary, shows the ups and down of a recession hit sanctuary through the eyes of two of the workers and also features some of the dogs and cats currently residing with the GSPCA.
